Shrewsbury Moves Festival
20th - 23rd of March
A four-day celebration of the future of movement in Shrewsbury (and beyond)
Talking Movement
20th - 21st March 2025
How can we create thriving, people-friendly market towns that balance transport, sustainability, and economic vitality?
Join us for two days of expert insight on the future of movement in our towns — locally and beyond.
Day 1
On the 20th of March, we invite you to Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery for an evening of discussion hosted by Peter Walker, author of The Miracle Pill and acting deputy political editor for the Guardian, with panelists Melissa Bruntlett (author, urban mobility advocate), Julia Buckley MP, and Phil Jones (Chairman, PJA).
From rethinking our dependence on cars to designing streets that support local businesses and support community living, our experts will share fresh perspectives and real-world examples to inspire change.
Secure your place now and join the conversation.
Booking is required. Tickets include refreshments.
Day 2
Visit Shrewsbury Business Suite between 10 am and 4 pm on the 21st of March, where we’ll be hosting seven interactive sessions exploring the future of travel, community engagement and urban design in towns.
Drop in throughout the day to explore a range of topics, including the health benefits of active travel, proven economic gains from pedestrian-friendly spaces, and the case for accessible, inclusive public areas.
We look forward to welcoming experts including Rhiannon Evans (ATE), Rachel Lee (Living Streets), Kay Inckle (Wheels for Wellbeing) and more.
Tickets available soon.
Celebrating Movement
21st - 23rd March 2025
A celebration of all things movement in Shrewsbury Town Centre, Shrewsbury Moves Festival spans three days, beginning with a sustainable transport showcase on Friday the 21st, to concur with Day 2 of our Shrewsbury Moves Conference.
On Saturday the 22nd, we’re kicking things up a notch and celebrating the freedom to move with an extravaganza of walking, wheeling, running, cycling, dancing, yoga, al fresco dining and much more.
Finally, on Sunday the 23rd, Shrewsbury Moves Festival culminates in a truly giant family fun day. Expect a showstopper of a surprise as we transform the Town Square into a one-of-a-kind family attraction that’ll have you seeing your town in a whole new way.
Come along to the Town Square and help us make the absolute most of our public spaces.
