Our Strategy

Introducing Shrewsbury Moves: a 10-year vision and plan to transform movement and public space across the town.

This strategy has been carefully developed by the Shrewsbury Big Town Plan Partnership, which is collectively made up of Shropshire Council, Shrewsbury Town Council and Shrewsbury BID.

Together, we have created this strategy to show our commitment to improving how people access and move around the town.

Our ultimate goal is to create an inclusive and connected transport system, making Shrewsbury one of the most inclusive, accessible, and economically thriving towns in the UK.

Wheels in motion

We are excited to turn our vision into reality and are already accelerating efforts to make this happen.

A key focus is collaboration with local businesses in Shrewsbury. Together, we will create solutions that collectively benefit our town and business community. As we continue to develop our plans, we’ll stay connected with residents and businesses every step of the way.

At the heart of our strategy is you – the people who shape the future of Shrewsbury. That’s why we will keep asking for your input and ideas to ensure our plans truly reflect the needs of our community.

We are now actively seeking additional funding, we aim to fast-track initiatives and make Shrewsbury an even more vibrant and thriving place.

With so many exciting developments happening across the town, we are working closely with our partners to ensure that our strategy is integrated into every aspect of Shrewsbury's growth.

Together, we’re working to create a brighter future for all.

  • "I’ve just read what your proposals are and wanted to congratulate you on a very well thought out set of ideas. No doubt there are lots of detailed points which experts could make. But as someone living not far away, getting on in years, they look balanced and constructive to me. It will all make the town a better place."

    Shrewsbury Resident

  • “Anything that makes bus use more convenient and useful for those using it the better! It's a key part of the solution.”

  • “Buses are crucial. Make them better, greener, cheaper and more regular. Evenings and weekends too!”
